Brianne West is the founder of Ethique, the world’s first zero-waste beauty brand. Starting from her kitchen in 2012, Ethique has grown into a global enterprise, selling in over 22 countries and preventing the disposal of millions of plastic bottles. In 2020, Brianne sold a majority stake in Ethique for nearly $100 million, underscoring the company’s impressive market value and growth potential.
Brianne has received numerous awards, including being named a Top 100 Global Thinker by Foreign Policy magazine in 2016, the EY Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019, and One Young World's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2020. In 2022, Mattel’s Barbie announced Brianne as its official role model for New Zealand, recognising her environmental advocacy and social entrepreneurship. She even has a unique Barbie doll made in her likeness, which is the highest honour that the brand bestows on its honourees.
Currently, Brianne is working on a groundbreaking new project: Incrediballs – The plastic-free drink concentrate. This innovative product aims to tackle the massive waste problem associated with single-use plastic drink containers. Launching in Aotearoa, Australia, and the USA in 2024, this project promises to revolutionise the drinks industry with its sustainable approach.
